Closing the Gap #409

This is the ultimate goal today and every day. This is message 409 and day 63 in the 8-C Challenge and this message is dedicated to my coach Brian Johnson, CEO of Heroic Benefit Corp.

We talkedabout forming our voice around the 3 U’s of the universal, ultimate, and unique game we are all playing. Everyone has a desire to become the best. We want to reach our potential. What one can be, one must be. Capacities clamor to be used and cease their clamor only when used sufficiently. The ancients called this eudaimonia. That is the word behind the pursuit of happiness. Happiness today is feeling good. Eudaimonia is more about being good. A better word today would be flourishing. This is universal.

The ultimate game each of us is playing is to close the gap each day between who we actually are and who we are capable of being. Each day is a new start for us, a clean slate. It doesn’t matter what we accomplished yesterday or didn’t accomplish. Yesterday was not the finish line. There is no finish line. Yesterday is spent, tomorrow’s check has not been written, and today is the only cash you have to spend. It doesn’t matter what we plan to accomplish tomorrow. You only have today. What will you do with it. You know what your best is. Will you work your protocols to perform your best today? The path of progress is paved with process. Your process is perfectly designed to produce the results you’re getting. If you don’t like the product, then change your system.

That is the ultimate game we are all playing. Let’s close the gap between who we are and who we can be. It’s day one. Don’t count the days, but make the days count. Dominate the day. The ultimate game is you versus you. Only you know what it will take today to close the gap between who you actually are and who you are capable of being.
