There Might Be #411

There might be something there. This is message 411 in day 65 in the 8-C challenge and this message is dedicated to Aubreigh and Tyler Ellis who are welcoming baby Walker into the world today.

Arguably the toughest school of learning is from critics. Critics come at you from bad motives, mistaken perspectives, and poor delivery. Their communication is harsh and unvarnished. It is hard to shake it off but it should be largely disregarded.

However, although 90% of criticism is false, flagrant, and flawed, there might be 10% that is true, telling and tough. You may never hear that last 10% anywhere else. That’s what makes it so valuable. Critics are mostly mistake, but there might be profit in a portion of what they are saying.

I don’t like listening to critics, opponents, or enemies, but if I can take their corrections to heart I can grow. Can you turn critics into coaches? This is next-level learning. There might be value to be gained if you recognize criticism as a school of learning.
