Carvell Wallace produced a podcast recently on Mr. Rogers. I can’t imagine how much time Carvell put into these episodes. Even though it is a closed series (10 episodes) I believe it will have a growing listenership because the message is evergreen.
Here are a few of my favorites quotes from Mr. Rogers:
- “Things like friendship and love don’t cost any money at all, and they’re very, very important.”
- “Look for the helpers.”
- “Love seems to be something that keeps filling up within us and the more we give away, the more we have to give.”
- “It’s a wonderful feeling when you know that people love you.”
- “Transitions are almost always signs of growth, but they can bring feelings of loss. To get somewhere new, we may have to leave somewhere else behind.”
I am so glad Mr. Rogers is ubiquitous right now. The world needs more neighbors like him. We can’t wish for Fred Rogers now. We have to be Fred Rogers.
