Which type of person are you? This is your daily message from Chad number 598 and this message is dedicated to Bompa’s boy Conan Whitacker.
Are you on track or off track? I love the framework of dividing people into two types. I have a list of 82 of them so far. I call it the binary life. I think you would agree that there are two types of people, those who are on track and those who are off track. Which are you?
Conan loves trains right now. He got several sets for Christmas. He has a battery-powered Thomas the Tank Engine set. Once the tracks are pieced together and the wheels are set on the track, Thomas, Percy, Edward, and Henry will just go round and round. But if any of them gets off the track, it’s a literal train wreck.
We passed into a new month over the weekend. You may have had things you wanted to accomplish last month. Are you on track or off track? Jim Rohn used to talk about making measurable progress in reasonable time. Different areas of life have different measures in varying lengths of time. You don’t want someone checking in on you after five minutes. That’s too soon. But some things can’t wait five years. You probably have daily to-dos. Maybe monthly check-ins. I’m sure you’d like to see some changes by the end of the year.
So the first question is whether you’re on track or off track. Then if you’re on track, what progress do you expect out of yourself in what amount of time? If you have a story to tell me you can email me at fromchadsmith@gmail.com. You can read the transcript of this message at fromchad.com.
